Items Accepted
• Devens Recycling Center is open to Devens residents, businesses, and employees.
• For appliance recycling and larger items and quantities (more than one car load), please call 978-772-1864 to make an appointment.
• Acceptable payment includes a check payable to MassDevelopment or a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover). Cash is not accepted. See fee structure below.
• Low-cost home composting bins (Earth Machine $25) and kitchen scrap buckets (Sure-Close $5) are available. To purchase, please call DPW at 978-772-1864 or email Melissa Finlay at mfinlay@massdevelopment.com
• Recycling Containers are located at the front of the parking lot and accessible seven days/week and 24 hours/day. These containers are free to access:
Compartment Container – Recyclables only
Plastics – Bottles, jars, jugs, and tubs (empty and replace cap) No black plastic.
Glass – Bottles and jars (empty and rinse) No dishes, window, door, or auto glass. Cans – Food and beverage cans (empty and rinse)
Compactor Container – Paper and cardboard only
Mixed Paper, Newspaper, Magazines, Boxes (empty and flatten)
Corrugated Container – Any corrugated container without Styrofoam or plastic packaging
Corrugated material attached to wood or frames will not be accepted.
Textiles Container – Clothing, linens, stuffed animals, pillows and footwear No moldy, oily, or wet items. Place items in a plastic bag and put in textile bin.
OFF-SITE SERVICES
Books: Clean books in good condition may be donated at the Little Free Library on Sherman Ave.
Bulky Items: Alpine Property Management provides trash service through Prime
Disposal. Items such as furniture (wood/upholstered), toilet, sinks, and carpet can be disposed of for a fee. Arrangements can be made through Prime Disposal at 978-419-6904, info@primedisposalma.com
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW): The Devens Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center is located behind DPW at 99 Buena Vista Street. HHW collection occurs twice a month from March through December. Visit www.devenshhw.com for schedules, fees, and other information.
